Alastair has a background in finance, risk management and governance. After a successful banking career in London and Tokyo, he returned to New Zealand in 1997, and established the wine exporting business ‘Matahiwi Estate’. Since then he has also been involved in the governance of small and large businesses, as well as nonprofit organisations. Alastair has held the seat of Wairarapa since 2014, and the electorate is one of the largest in the country, stretching from Featherston up into Central Hawkes Bay. He has three children and shares a busy household with his partner Robyn Noble-Campbell and her three children. The children range in age from 12 to 21. Other interests include skiing, jogging and cooking.
